At the meeting, the speakers deplored that achievements made in the June 15 era were brought to naught and the confrontation on the eve of a war is prevailing in this land due to the present regime's policy of escalating the confrontation with compatriots.

Reunification is the most urgent desire of the nation whose realization brooks no delay and this is achievable only when the south and the north pool their efforts, they said.

They called for creating institutional conditions for the withdrawal of U.S. forces and the repeal of the "Security Law" through the forthcoming elections in a bid to fling open the gate to cooperation and exchange between the south and the north and, furthermore, open the gate to reunification so much desired by the nation.
