Koreans in Russia Mourn Kim Jong Il on 100th Day from His Demise
Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- The United Confederation of Koreans in Russia held a memorial service on March 25, the 100th day since the demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The participants laid wreaths and bouquets before the portrait of Kim Jong Il and observed a moment's silence for him.

The chairman of the confederation made a memorial speech.

He said that Kim Jong Il defended the country's sovereignty and the people's destiny with his outstanding Songun politics during the most difficult period of the country. He praised Kim Jong Il, saying that he turned the DPRK into a nuclear weapons state which no imperialists dare provoke.

He noted that national reunification was the biggest desire of Kim Jong Il, calling upon all the overseas Koreans to make positive efforts for reunification under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself".

Kim Jong Il will remain alive in the hearts of not only the Korean people but other people in the world, he emphasized.

Then the chairperson of the Scientist Association of Koreans in Russia made a speech:

Leader Kim Jong Il always paid deep concern to the country's development of science and technology and it was entirely attributable to his idea of giving importance to science and technology that the DPRK developed into a nuclear weapons state and a country with ability to manufacture and launch satellite.

Representatives of the confederation visited the mourning station in the DPRK embassy in Moscow and laid a wreath and bouquets to memorize Kim Jong Il that day.
