Wage Hike Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Those Receiving the Minimum Wages grouping more than 30 civic and social organizations including the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a press conference in Seoul on Tuesday demanding a solution to the issue of wages threatening the civilians' right to existence.

Speakers at the press conference noted every worker is now paid money less than the cost for his or her single meal though they toiled and moiled all day long. With this wage workers can hardly eke out their living, they deplored, and continued:

The business groups, however, get richer whereas people get poorer under the Lee Myung Bak "government".

They called for punishing the present regime and the ruling party in the upcoming general election by concerted efforts in order to have the wage issue of the workers settled.
