Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Baranikova, editor-in-chief of a newspaper of Vladivostok of Russia, released a statement on March 17 in support of a statement of the spokesman for the Korean Committee of Space Technology.

Many people who heard the statement of the spokesman think that the DPRK's satellite launch does not fall foul of international regulations but would be beneficial one that does not pose a threat to the security in Northeast Asia, the editor-in-chief said, adding:

"The DPRK will continue turning the achievements in the field of space into good account for the happiness of the people.

The DPRK's space and nuclear development for peaceful purposes is not contrary to international law and the UN Charter.

The launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 will be a significant event in honor of the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

I hope that the DPRK's working satellite will be launched with success to the delight of all the people who look forward to it."
