Abolition of FTA Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- Workers and peasants in Kwangju-South Jolla Province, south Korea held a meeting at Kwangju Railway Station to demand the abolition of the shackling south Korea-U.S. "Free Trade Agreement" (FTA) on March 15.

Speakers at the meeting said that the agreement with the U.S. took effect that day as a result of the humiliating acts of the Lee Myung Bak "government" and the ruling party. This will make south Korea further dependent on the U.S., they deplored.

They said that the Lee "government" dug its own grave on March 15, the day when an election took place, bringing ruin to dictator Syngman Rhee.

They noted that even judges opposed the agreement, saying it abandons judicial sovereignty and is placed above the law. They declared the agreement null and void.

They expressed the will to wage the campaign to defeat the candidates to the "National Assembly" who had pursued sycophantic politics ahead of the general election in April.

They vowed to launch actions to judge traitorous regime and to have the ruinous agreement scrapped at the same time.
