New Method of Salt Production Developed
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- The Yonbaek Saltern of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has succeeded in producing salt from underground brine.

The underground water is divided into freshwater, chlorinated water, brine, etc. according to its mineral content.

The salinity of underground brine is more than 50 grams per liter.

The method of producing salt with brine is very profitable as it helps raise the production of salt 2-5 times per hectare with less area and production cycle than with seawater.

The west coast of Korea has favorable conditions for underground brine with large deposits.

The government has taken necessary measures to increase the salt production with underground brine while exploring for it in various parts of the country.
