Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- Radioactive substance is being detected in Fukushima Prefecture in Japan.

The Forestry Agency of Japan collected fallen leaves from about 400 places in the prefecture from September to November last year and measured the level of radioactive cesium.

The measurement resulted in detecting 4,440,000 Bq of radioactive cesium per kilogram on leaves from Ishikuma, Hutaba Cho, and Denno mountain in Namie Cho west of the nuclear power station.

1,000,000 Bq of radioactive cesium was detected on leaves in forests in nine places including Minamisoma City and Iidate village, proving that its level remains high within the areas 30 kilometers from the nuclear power station.
