Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and the people of the DPRK, inspected KPA Navy Unit 123 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led Seventh Regiment.

He got aboard Submarine Chaser No. 202 and headed for the unit despite rough waves. He learned about its arms and equipment and its seamen's combat preparedness.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that all officers and men of the ship have intensified their trainings to be fully prepared for actions and have been trained to be matchless combat ranks capable of firmly defending the territorial waters of the country.

He made the rounds of the room dedicated to the education in the revolutionary history and the room devoted to the history of the unit.

Watching historical materials on the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu displayed in the room for the education in the revolutionary history one by one with great attention, he said the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who worked heart and soul for the strengthening and development of the naval force would go down in the history of the country forever.

He looked back on the shining course of battles covered by the unit under the care of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

He made the rounds of soldiers' hall, library, health complex, storehouse for non-staple food, food processing site and other places to acquaint himself in detail with the political and ideological education of seamen and their service.

After asking about the use of soldiers' hall, he instructed the officials accompanying him to make the naval unit there the first leg of the performance tour of army units by the State Merited Chorus.

At the library, he asked in detail about how many books the library can house, if it received must books in good time and if there was a good habit of reading among seamen, underscoring the need to always pay primary attention to the ideological education.

He again asked about bean farming in which he always shows interest on his way to inspect the front and also asked if bean was supplied to seamen regularly. He met with cooks and told them to do their best for seamen.

He posed for a picture with the service personnel of the unit.

He waved back to the seamen overcome with emotion and came out to a naval port for departure. He went round Hero Chae Jong Bo Warship moored at the port.

He stood in the steering house of the ship for a long while despite strong wind and waved to its seamen.
