Int'l Women's Day Significantly Marked in Liberated Korea
Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- The Korean women are recollecting great feats of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, on the occasion of the International Women's Day.

One day in February Juche 35 (1946) President Kim Il Sung asked an official to prepare a report to be delivered at a meeting to commemorate the International Women's Day.

When the official was taking pains over drafting the report, Kim Jong Suk called on him to help drawing it up properly.

Repeatedly examining the draft, she told the official about the purport of the meeting, which was to further strengthen the Korean women's movement.

She added that the report should focus on the policy shaped by the President for the Korean women's movement, its validity and the tasks for implementing the policy.

Later, she personally revised some phrases in the report rewritten by the official.

The President expressed satisfaction over the report, saying that it properly reviewed the history of development of the Korean women's movement and analyzed its experiences correctly. It was admirable that the report stressed the feats and experience gained in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle would serve as a precious asset for the development of the women's movement and settlement of the women-related problems, he added.

Korean women significantly marked the International Women's Day in the presence of Kim Jong Suk for the first time in the country after its liberation from the Japanese colonial rule.
