U.S. Should Make Right Choice as Regards Its Forces in S. Korea: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- The issue of the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from the Korean Peninsula has remained unsettled since their occupation of S. Korea. It is entirely due to the U.S. that the issue has not yet been settled.

Rodong Sinmun Thursday observes this in a by-lined article.

Citing facts to prove that the U.S. has invented various absurd pretexts for years to justify its military presence in S. Korea, the article goes on:

It is the judgment of the U.S. that without occupying the whole of Korea it is impossible for it to dominate the Asian continent nor is it possible for it to lay a military siege to Eurasia.

The U.S. forces in south Korea are playing the role as a shock force for carrying out the U.S. strategy for invading the DPRK and its Asian strategy.

Accordingly, all the military actions of the U.S. forces in south Korea and Japan are being staged to serve the purpose of the U.S. scenario for establishing a military domination over the whole of Korea and putting Asia under its control.

No matter what clumsy excuses the U.S. may invent, it cannot hide the injustice and criminal nature of the U.S. military presence in south Korea.

The withdrawal of the U.S. forces is an obligation which the U.S. should fulfill under international law.

The detente and promotion of stability on the Korean Peninsula and the improvement of the DPRK-U.S. relations have become a realistic demand. A key to the solution of the issue is to put an end to the U.S. military presence in S. Korea.

Even political and social circles and military strategic think tanks of the U.S. are admitting the injustice of the U.S. military presence in south Korea and the validity of their withdrawal.

Preventing the outbreak of a war and ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula is not an issue confined to this region but a matter directly related to ensuring peace and security in the world.

The U.S. would be well advised to make a right choice.
