Intel' Railways Meeting of Asian Countries of ORC Held in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- The international railways meeting of Asian countries of the Organization of Railways Cooperation for agreeing upon foreign trade freight transport volume for 2012 was held here from Feb. 28 to March 2.

Attending there were delegations of the DPRK, China, Russia, Mongolia, Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

The participants first observed a moment's silence in memory of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Im Chol Ung, deputy minister of Railways, in a congratulatory speech at the meeting said that Asian countries have closely cooperated with each other to increase foreign trade freight transport volume in the past.

He stressed the need to boost exchange in the future to deepen bonds of friendship.

The meeting, divided into panels, summed up the fulfilment of the 2011 plan for foreign trade freight transport among Asian countries.

It agreed upon foreign trade freight transport volume for 2012 for economic development of those countries participating in the meeting and discussed technical issues to implement the agreement.

A relevant protocol was adopted at the meeting.
