Japan's Policy of Discrimination against Koreans under Fire
Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- An emergency meeting took place in Tokyo on March 1 demanding an immediate inclusion of the Korean schools in the "tuition-free program for senior high schools".

Attending the meeting were compatriots and Korean students in Kanto and members of Japanese civic and social organizations such as the liaison society against the exclusion of the Korean schools from the "tuition-free program for senior high schools" and the "Forum peace, human rights and environment".

The speakers denounced the Japanese government for not granting the Korean schools' access to the program and enforcing the unwarranted policy of discriminating the Koreans in Japan.

They said that all students have the right to receive education on an equal basis.

They said they would continue the struggle to firmly defend the democratic national education.

Read out at the meeting were letters of solidarity sent by members of the House of Representatives from the Social-Democratic Party of Japan and the Japan Democratic Party and members of the House of Councillors from the Democratic Party.

A resolution adopted at the meeting urged the Japanese government to repeal the institutional discrimination against the Koreans in Japan and immediately apply the program to the Korean schools in Japan.
