S. Korean Paper Condemns Prosecution for Slandering Progressive Media
Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Internet paper Jaju Minbo on Feb. 29 carried a prison letter of Representative Ri Chang Gi. The puppet Intelligence Agency arrested him on charges of violation of notorious "Security Law".

The letter noted that the prosecution let the media spread the groundless allegation that Jaju Minbo went operational at the instructions of the north.

It went on:

Articles carried in Jaju Minbo deal with information officially representing the judgment of each individual reporter. Therefore, those articles have proper reasoning behind them.

Jaju Minbo made active coverage of the efforts for implementation of the south-north joint declarations and the improvement of the inter-Korean relations. The crackdown upon it is aimed to create an atmosphere favorable for the "government" and the ruling party with the election at hand.

The prosecution started wildcat investigation to fabricate the "north wind", the letter said, adding that the reporters of Jaju Minbo would concentrate all efforts on the struggle to judge the Lee "government".

It will bring the case to the international organization and take legal proceedings against the "government", in particular, the letter said.
