S. Korean Organizations Demand Halt to Anti-DPRK War Exercises
Pyongyang, February 29 (KCNA) -- The Committee for Reconciliation and Reunification of the Council of Christian Churches in south Korea in a statement on Feb. 27 lashed out at the DPRK-targeted military exercises Key Resolve and Foal Eagle jointly launched by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean warmongers.

This saber-rattling is escalating the tensions between the north and the south and laying a stumbling block in the way of ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The statement urged them to stop at once the military drills which will further deteriorate the inter-Korean relations.

On the same day the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and the Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty of south Korea also made public a statement demanding a halt to the anti-DPRK war maneuvers.

More than 50 civic and public organizations of south Korea including the Solidarity for Progress and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification held a press conference outside the south Korea-U.S. "Combined Military Command" on the same day at which they slammed the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle.

A joint statement was read out at the conference.
