Sri Lanka Calls for Public Demos against UNHRC Resolution
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The Sri Lankan government has planned public demonstrations calling on people to take to roads against any resolution to be passed at the 19th sessions of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on February 27, a government spokesman said on Thursday.

The general secretary of the ruling coalition party said that island-wide protests will be conducted in parallel to the opening of UNHRC sessions on February 27.

He also accused the United States of trying to plot against Sri Lanka and planning to bring a resolution against the island nation.

"As far as we know, the United States is making a plan against this country with the support of several western allies," the minister of Petroleum, said.

The minister of Power and Energy said this is another attempt to weaken a strong government.
