Iran's Air Defense Drills
Tehran, February 24 (KCNA) -- The air defense units of Iran's Khatam-ol-Anbiya Air Defense Base "successfully" identified and repelled a massive airstrike by mock enemy fighter jets on the second day of the air defense maneuvers on Tuesday, the semi- official Mehr news agency reported.

On Monday, Iran started four-day "Sarallah" air defense maneuvers in southern part of the country, covering a span of about 190,000 square km.

The hypothetical enemy carried out an electronic attack on Iran's air defense systems and its jammers radiated interfering signals toward Iranian radar systems, but Iranian air defense units managed to repel the threat using electronic warfare tactics, said the report.

According to the public relations department of the Khatam-ol- Anbiya Air Defense Base, "Sarallah" maneuvers are meant to enhance the country's integrated network of air defense with a focus on modern defensive tactics.

The other purpose of the war games is to increase the country's preparedness in the face of military threats, particularly possible attacks on densely populated areas, sensitive and vulnerable centers, and nuclear facilities.
