Nothing Is Expected from Lee Myung Bak "Government": S. Korean Papers
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- South Korean Kyunghyang Daily News Wednesday carried an editorial criticizing the "government" authorities for claiming they have registered what they called successes in four years of office.

The editorial recalled that on Feb. 21 Chongwadae issued a press release titled "Major achievements in economic field in four years of the Lee Myung Bak government."

Chongwadae was so shameless as to delete contents unfavorable to Lee Myung Bak from the press release and tell lies to give impression that everything went well, the editorial said, and went on:

This gave a glimpse of Chongwadae's attitude far from the people's grudge against the "government".

The press release referred to the improved protection of irregular jobs and the improved quality of employment and described them as "great achievements", turning its face away from the reduction in people's income, the widening gap between the poor and rich, serious unemployment, etc.

Recalling that the press release falsified truth by claiming that the price hike was attributable not to the authorities' policy but to the jump in the prices of raw and other materials, the editorial said this was an artifice to hoodwink the people.

It did not mention even the tax cut for the rich and the project of the four big rivers, the core of the Lee Myung Bak's economic policy.

There is nothing to expect from the Lee regime as Chongwadae is lavishing praises on it though it should have seriously reflected on the present situation and buckled down to carrying out the policy for stabilizing the people's livelihood.
