Kim Hyon Hui, Art Prodigy of DPRK
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Hyon Hui, a first-year girl pupil of Pyongyang Kallimgil Secondary School in the DPRK, is drawing attention of fine art experts as an art prodigy.

Kim has been greatly interested in painting since her kindergarten days.

Ri Tong Hun, a teacher of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace who has taught her how to draw pictures over the last 6 years, told KCNA, "Hyon Hui has liked drawing what she saw in picture books and children's films since the age of five. Her drawings looked some awkward but reflected her inborn talent."

When she was six years old, Kim Hyon Hui won a special prize at a national art exhibition. Her pictures were also displayed at international children's art shows held in China, Russia, India, the Czech Republic, Egypt and some other countries to win high admiration.

In particular, some of her pictures were highly appreciated at an art show arranged as part of the exposition in China in May Juche 99 (2010.)

One of the viewers said, "I saw Kim drawing picture just before, but it is hard to believe that the excellent picture was drawn by a 10-year-old girl. I really admire the DPRK that trains such talents as her at state expenses."

Typical of her recent pictures are "Day of Visit to Mangyongdae" and "In Ostrich Farm."
