Rodong Sinmun on S. Korean Authorities' Sinister Aim in Hosting "Nuclear Security Summit"
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities are disgustingly behaving over the issue of the "nuclear security summit" to be held in Seoul in late March. They are vociferating about "nuclear threat from the north" and claiming "the summit would help the north", creating impression that the summit would provide a good opportunity for settling the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.

Rodong Sinmun Friday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

The summit is, in essence, no more than an unsavory burlesque to be staged by the U.S. and the south Korean conservative group in a bid to escalate a worldwide nuclear racket against the DPRK in conspiracy with each other.

The south Korean authorities should repent of what they have done to block the denuclearization of the peninsula and bring the danger of a nuclear war to the nation in collusion with outsiders before discussing "nuclear security", the commentary says, and goes on:

If substantial nuclear security and peace are to be achieved in the peninsula, it is necessary to put an end to the nuclear war threat from the U.S. and the south Korean warlike forces. To talk about nuclear security without taking the above-said measure is nothing but an empty talk.

Clear is the aim sought by the south Korean authorities in hosting the summit in league with the U.S. It is designed to make the already bankrupt theory of "nuclear threat from the north" sound real and justify their nuclear racket and moves to ignite a nuclear war against the DPRK.

This is why the Lee Myung Bak group is going so busy making preparations for the summit while noisily advertising it. The "National Assembly" election will take place 15 days after the summit. The conservative group, in the grip of a serious ruling crisis after being cursed and forsaken by the people, is working hard to divert elsewhere public criticism of it and improve its image in a bid to escape a shameful defeat in the "election" with the summit as an occasion.

The Lee group is making desperate efforts to prolong its remaining days, clinging to the coattails of the U.S. but this is nothing but the last-ditch efforts to get rid of its predicament.

The Lee group had better stop foolishly talking about "nuclear security" but comply with public demand.
