S. Korean Christian Church Slams Anti-DPRK Joint Military Drills
Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- The Council of Christian Churches in south Korea in a statement on Feb. 21 called for ending all acts including military drills that may trigger military conflicts between the north and the south.

The U.S.-south Korea DPRK-targeted war drills escalate tension between the two sides of Korea and throw a stumbling block in bringing peace to the Korean Peninsula, the statement said.

The war drills called "regular exercises" can plunge the peninsula into an unpredictable phase, it added.

It urged the "government" to withdraw the "May 24 measure" and make efforts for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula on the principle of dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect, the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
