A ceremony of conveying the certificate of honorary chairmanship was held in Jakarta on Feb. 15.

A decision on awarding the title of honorary chairman to Kim Jong Il was read out at the ceremony.

The general chairman of the Central Board of the Foundation handed the certificate and the written decision to the DPRK ambassador to Indonesia.

The certificate says that the Soekarno Foundation for Education confers the title of its honorary chairman on HE Kim Jong Il, who made contribution to defending the world justice and peace and strengthening the friendly ties between Indonesia and the DPRK.

Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, chairman of the Founding Committee of the Foundation, said that it was their great pleasure and honor to have registered Kim Jong Il as their honorary chairman. He expressed the will to strive for the development of friendly ties between the two countries.
