Birth Anniversary Observed in Foreign Countries
Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- Events were held in various countries between Feb. 8 and 12 on the birth anniversary of general secretary Kim Jong Il. They included a remembrance meeting, meeting, book and photo exhibition, film show and seminar in Sweden, Switzerland, Libya, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, France and Ethiopia.

On display in their venues were books and photos of the Songun revolutionary leadership feats of Kim Jong Il.

Korean films shown included "Arms of Korea" and "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation".

The chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association noted Kim Jong Il's Songun politics paved the way for ensuring peace and security in Northeast Asia and achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea on the basis of the ideal of "By our nation itself".

The reporters including the chief of the Bulgarian Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and speakers said all the achievements made by the Korean people and the miracles performed by them in the past are associated with the august name of Kim Jong Il.

Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladesh People's League, said Kim Jong Il was an outstanding leader who led the cause of independence against imperialism to victory and the world clearly realized the great vitality and validity of the Songun politics through the stirring reality of the DPRK.

Jean Marie Lambret, chief of the French Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Idea, and the chairman of a regional committee of the France-Korea Friendship Association noted the single-minded unity, politico-ideological might, tremendous military capability and self-supporting national economy serve as the main characteristics of the DPRK and all of them constitute the immortal feats performed by Kim Jong Il.

Messages to the dear respected Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events in France, Sweden, Switzerland and Libya.
