S. Korean Workers Stage Anti-"Government" Action

| Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Members of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and workers of Ssangryong Motors held a press conference before the building of "Saenuri Party" on Feb. 15 in demand of the withdrawal of the unjust layoff measure. The speakers at the press conference recalled that 1 000 days have passed since the workers of the factory started their action against the unjust layoffs in May 2009. Due to the protracted layoffs, the number of dead is on the steady increase, they held. Blasting the deceptive labor policy of the party, they urged the ruling party to come out to adopt a law banning the layoff and other ones on vital rights of the workers. They warned whoever goes against the demand of the workers for the settlement of the issue will never escape a stern punishment. |
