Solution to Issue of Comfort Women Urged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers' Corps in south Korea held a press conference before the "government's" building in Seoul on Feb. 15 and urged the authorities to take a positive option for settling the issue of comfort women for Imperial Japanese Army.

A press release was read out at the conference.

The press release recalled that the victims and their bereaved families are mounting their voices demanding a solution to the above-said issue.

But the present authorities are only repeating such words as "a proposal for a bilateral agreement was delivered to Japan" and "they are waiting for an official reply to it", it said, adding:

This is little short of outbursts let loose by the authorities to forgive the shameless attitude of the Japanese authorities to evade a legal responsibility for the issue, making a spate of reckless remarks that the above-said issue has been settled.

The release noted that the victims of the sexual slavery can no longer wait for the apology and reparation for it as they are leaving this world one after another with pent-up grudge unsettled.
