Business Worsens in Japan

| Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- The amount of power generated and purchased by Japan's 10 utilities in January fell 5.3 percent from a year earlier to 87.43 billion kilowatt-hours, down for the 11th straight month, an industry body said Monday. This was due to economic depression. Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co. on Monday reported its group net profit in the April to December period fell 19.0 percent from a year earlier to 12.71 billion yen. |
