Birth Anniversary Commemorated by Foreign Media
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Foreign papers carried special write-ups and foreign broadcasting services aired commemorative programs on the birth anniversary of general secretary Kim Jong Il.

The Russian paper Komsomolskaya Pravda Vladivostok on Feb. 10 carried a special write-up under the title "Praying for the immortality of Comrade Kim Jong Il" illustrated with a photo of him visiting Russia by train.

The Russian paper Cesnoye Slovo No. 3 devoted its one whole page to a special write-up under the title "Great man produced by Korea is always alive in the hearts of the people" with the portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il and a photo of him finding himself among soldiers.

The Nepali paper Noya Kotparwa on Feb. 9 edited an article titled "Desire of leader Kim Jong Il" illustrated with the portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il.

The Ethiopian paper Reporter on Feb. 11 dedicated one whole page to a special write-up with the above-said portrait under the title "Leader Kim Jong Il will always be alive. On his 70th birth anniversary".

The Jordanian paper Al Diyar on Feb. 2 and 4 carried articles praising him for giving scientific and theoretical answers to all the issues arising in the revolution and construction and working world-startling miracles with his brilliant wisdom and distinguished leadership ability.

Radio of Democratic Congo in commemorative programs on Feb. 10 and 11 said Kim Jong Il wisely led the Korean revolution and global independence for years, performing undying feats on behalf of the times and history.

Television "Tele Andina 23" of Ecuador on the same day showed "Kim Jong Il's Birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp" and other Korean films.
