DPRK Title of Labor Hero Awarded to Artist

| Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- Ri Song Il was awarded the title of DPRK Labor Hero together with Gold Medal (Hammer and Sickle) and Order of National Flag (First Class). Ri is an artist of the mural and jewel painting group at the Art Studio of the Korean People's Army. He made a distinguished contribution to production of fine art works portraying the leader. He successfully created the portrait of smiling leader Kim Jong Il as a national treasure in a short span of time by giving full play to his talents and enthusiasm with firm faith that the leader is always with the Korean people. A decree of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly on conferring the title was issued on February 4. |
