Birth Anniversary Observed by Foreign Papers
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- Newspapers of Nepal, Thailand and Iran carried special write-ups on Feb. 9 and 10 to commemorate the birth anniversary of general secretary Kim Jong Il.

The Nepali paper Rahasha carried an article titled "Faith of Korean people" with a photo of Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

The paper said that Kim Jong Il firmly defended socialism with his original Songun politics, put forward the Koreans as the people strong in independence, ushered in a great heyday for building a thriving nation and opened a bright prospect for national reunification.

Another Nepali paper Arpan praised the revolutionary career and feats of Kim Jong Il and introduced the Korean people pushing ahead with the building of a thriving country under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

The Thai paper Xing San Daily carried a portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il and an article which said:

Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un is standing in the van of the Korean people who are now dynamically advancing to carry forward to completion the cause of Kim Jong Il.

Under his guidance the Korean people will surely accomplish the building of a thriving nation and the cause of national reunification and stand in the van of the progressive mankind aspiring after independence.

The Iranian paper Iran News devoted one whole page to an article on the greatness and personality of Kim Jong Il under the headline "On 70th birth anniversary of HE Kim Jong Il, peerlessly great man", illustrated by a photo of the leader acknowledging the cheering crowd.

Besides, his birth anniversary was observed by International Relations, a magazine of Hong Kong, China, Guinean paper Horoya, Ugandan paper Sun Rise, Indian papers New Delhi Times, Science Technology and Education News and Tourism Era.
