Kim Jong Il Will Always Live in Hearts of Mankind: Foreign Figures
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- Personages of Chile and Peru issued statements on the occasion of the birth anniversary of general secretary Kim Jong Il.

On Feb. 16 the progressive mankind would greet the 70th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il, the great leader of the Korean people and leader of the world revolution who passed away so early to their deep regret, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Chile (Proletarian Action) noted in a statement on Feb. 11, saying:

The achievements in socialist construction of the DPRK and in the worldwide struggle for independence and socialism against imperialism would have been unthinkable without the idea, politics and leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The world progressive people will never forget the fact that he proved the scientific accuracy and truth of socialism in the days when socialism was abused by the imperialists due to the restoration of capitalism in the Soviet Union and East European countries and the reactionaries and their reptile mouthpieces were advertising about the "end of socialism".

His 70th birth anniversary is a holiday of not only the Korean people but all of us and February 16 will be always kept as the red-letter day in the hearts of the world progressive people.

The secretary general of the Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship in a statement on Feb. 12 stressed that Kim Jong Il performed great feats by making untiring efforts for socialism of the DPRK and global independence with ardent patriotism and love for the people and the steadfast spirit of defending independence and peace.
