Day of Shining Star Commemorated Abroad
Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries to commemorate the Day of the Shining Star, the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Lectures were held in Mexico, Tajikistan and Democratic Congo, lectures, book and photo exhibitions and film shows in Brazil, Guinea and India and a ceremony of opening the Taekwon-Do center and a commemoration of the Day of the DPRK in the Czech Republic between Feb. 7 and 11.

Displayed at their venues were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, photos on their undying feats and books and photos introducing the true picture of Songun Korea.

Korean films shown included "The Tower of the Juche Idea", "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Party Founding Memorial Tower".

Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, coordinator of the National Coordinating Committee of the Workers' Party of Mexico, said in a lecture that Kim Jong Il was the peerlessly elder statesman and outstanding Songun brilliant commander as he had long guided only to victory the revolutionary cause of Juche, the cause of the Songun revolution pioneered by the President.

His undying feats will shine forever in the history of Kim Il Sung's nation and the human history, the coordinator stressed.

Kurbonzyon Mirzoyeva, member of the Presidium of the C.C., Communist Party of Tajikistan, stated that Kim Jong Il was the benevolent father of the people as he gave top priority to the people's interests in working out every line and policy of the party and the state and devoted his all to the work for the people.

The vice-chairman of the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of University of Kinshasa in Democratic Congo said that the idea and cause of Kim Jong Il would be creditably carried forward by the dear respected Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK.

The international community is praising Kim Jong Il as a distinguished great man, said the rector of Indrafrasta State School of India.
