Kim Jong Un Enjoys Concert of Unhasu Orchestra
Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and the supreme leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people, enjoyed concert "The Hearts Following the Sun" commemorating the Day of the Shining Star given by the Unhasu Orchestra on the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Un waved to the enthusiastically cheering audience.

The audience observed a moment's silence in memory of Kim Jong Il in the humblest reverence.

Put on the stage were chorus "Smile of Love", serial songs of immortal masterpieces "Embrace of Country" and "Greeting the Sun Rise over the Taedong River", chorus "O Korea, I Will Add Glory to Thee", trombone solo and chorus "Thinking of the General", female sextet "Our Father," female solo and pangchang "We Will Become Flowers Heralding Spring before Others," mixed quartet and pangchang "We Will Resemble the General," narration and orchestral music "Tears of Korea", chorus "The General Will Live Forever as the Sun" and other colorful numbers.

In the concert its performers represented the unbounded yearning and reverence of the service personnel and the people for Kim Jong Il who laid an eternal foundation for the prosperity of the country and its people's happiness, undergoing for decades all sorts of sufferings which nobody else in this world has ever experienced.

Songs and narrations dealt with the stirring reality of the country which has turned into a Songun power, a state which achieved single-minded unity and socialist paradise thanks to the patriotic devotion of Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Un warmly acknowledged the enthusiastic cheers of the performers and audience.

He highly appreciated their successful performance, expressing great satisfaction over the splendid performance as it is distinct in its ideological and thematic stand and fully reflected the ardent aspiration and desire, firm pledge and readiness of the Korean people.

He noted it was a wonderful performance which may instill strength and courage into the service personnel and people of the DPRK accelerating the advance for a great revolutionary surge with reverence for Kim Jong Il.

He expressed expectation and conviction that the creators and artistes of the orchestra would encourage the service personnel and people of the DPRK through their dynamic art creation and performing activities.

Among the audience were Choe Yong Rim, Ri Yong Ho, Kim Kyong Hui, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Jang Song Thaek, Kim Jong Gak, U Tong Chuk, officials of party, state and armed forces organs, power bodies, public organizations, ministries and national institutions and in the fields of science, education, culture and arts, public health and media, service personnel of the KPA and people from all walks of life in Pyongyang.
