Paektusan Prize Int'l Figure-skating Festival Closes
Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- The 21st Paektusan Prize International Figure-skating Festival was closed with due ceremony at the Ice Rink on Friday.

The festival opened on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Ryong Hae, officials concerned and sportspersons, overseas compatriots delegations and compatriots, the chief of the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front and foreign guests.

At the closing ceremony festival prizes were awarded to figure skaters from Russia, China, Bulgaria, France, Finland and the DPRK who displayed high skills.

Pak Myong Chol, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, addressed the closing ceremony.

He expressed belief that figure skaters from different countries would visit Pyongyang to more significantly observe the Day of the Shining Star in the idea of independence, friendship and peace in the future.

And there was a demonstration performance of figure skaters from different countries and the DPRK.
