Russian Ambassador Hosts Reception to Commemorate Day of Shining Star
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Valery Sukhinin arranged a reception at his embassy on Tuesday to commemorate the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Present there on invitation were Kim Ki Nam and Kim Yong Il, secretaries of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun, Ri Yong Chol, vice department director of the C.C., WPK, So Ho Won, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and officials concerned.

Staff members of the Russian embassy were on hand.

The participants watched Korean documentary film "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il Paid Unofficial Visit to Siberian and Far East Regions of Russia" August 20-25, Juche 100 (2011).

Valery Sukhinin said in his speech that the visit paid by Kim Jong Il to Russia greatly contributed to boosting the bilateral relations in various fields.

He wished the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would develop on a new stage under the leadership of Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un.

He expressed belief that the Korean people would register new greater successes in building a thriving nation under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

Kim Ki Nam in his speech referred to the undying feats Kim Jong Il performed in the development of traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Russia.

He expressed belief that the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation would grow stronger by joint efforts this year.

The lofty august name of Kim Jong Il and his image like the sun will shine for all ages and he is always alive in the hearts of the Korean people and mankind, he stressed.

A reception was given by the Russian consulate-general in Chongjin on the same day.
