Clove Composite Bacillus Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- The State Bacilli-Culture Institute of the State Academy of Sciences has developed clove composite bacillus.

The bacillus is used in the foodstuff industry.

It, consisting of various lactic bacteria, helps maintaining resistance to diseases and promoting growth.

It also generates anticancer and adjuvant substances, promote digestion and absorption of nutrients and lower cholesterol in blood.

It is efficacious for cerebral and cardiovascular diseases, digestive trouble, inflammatory disease, liver trouble and other diseases.

The bacillus is applied to producing functional health drinks and foodstuffs like kamju (sweet drink prepared with rice and malt), bean kefir and yogurt at foodstuff factories.

It is also applicable to preparing kimchi, pickling vegetables with a small amount of salt, making instant soybean malt and soft bean curd and growing bean sprouts.
