Okinawa Seeks Early Return of U.S. Military Land under New Deal
Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Okinawa Gov. Hirokazu Nakaima and other local officials reiterated their opposition to the two countries' maintained policy of moving the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma Air Station within the prefecture.

Nakaima said in his statement on Wednesday he expects Tokyo and Washington to ''reflect the view of local people'' in reviewing their 2006 agreement on the realignment of U.S. forces in Japan, which links the Futenma relocation with the return of military-occupied land south of the Kadena base and the transfer of Marines stationed in Okinawa to Guam.
