Functions to Commemorate Birth Anniversary of Kim Jong Il Held Abroad
Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Events took place to commemorate the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il on Feb. 2 and 3. They include meetings, film shows, book and photo exhibitions held in Poland, Norway, Cambodia and Thailand and at the Secretariat of the Pan-African Movement.

On display in their venues were works of Kim Jong Il, photos showing his immortal exploits, books and photos introducing the achievements made by the Korean people in building a thriving nation.

The participants of the film shows watched Korean films including "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and others.

The first vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Poland-Korea Association said:

The Polish people who received news of the demise of Comrade Kim Jong Il so untimely last year shared sorrow with the Korean people.

Today the Korean people turned out to build a thriving nation to carry out the behests of Kim Jong Il under the wise leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Il will always be alive in the hearts of humankind as a lodestar shedding its bright rays.

Dag Norum, chairman of the Ostfold County Committee of the Communist Party of Norway, noted:

Comrade Kim Jong Il was a great teacher and peerlessly political elder who instilled strength and courage into the Korean and other progressive people of the world.

We will extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their just cause.

A message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting held in Norway.
