Many People Visit Kim Jong Il's Birthplace for 25 Yrs
Pyongyang, February 10 (KCNA) -- A total of more than 5,787,000 people of at least 3,500 organisations visited the birthplace of General Secretary Kim Jong Il in Paektusan Secret Camp since it was opened to public 25 years ago.

They included senior party, state and army officials, anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, servicepersons of the People's Army, people from all walks of life, school youth and children, foreigners, overseas Koreans and south Koreans.

On Feb. 11, 1987 the visitors totaled more than 4,000.

The study tour has been unabated all the year round, typically the group of party information officials from across the country in February 1989, children's group to Jong Il Peak that August, single-minded unity group of youth in Ryanggang Province to Paektusan Secret Camp in February 1992.

The number of visitors to the birthplace is now on the steady increase in the run-up to the first Day of the Shining Star.
