Punishment of Lee Myung Bak "Government" Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- More than 7,000 members of political parties and social organizations in south Korea held a rally in Kyonggi Province on Feb. 5 to call for punishing the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors in this year's elections. They included the United Progressive Party, Solidarity for Progress, Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Women Peasants Associations.

Speakers at the rally deplored that the people have lost their lives and been deprived of their vital rights under the "government's" suppression and misrule after Lee Myung Bak came to power.

Such tragedy should not be allowed any longer, they said, declaring that workers and peasants would take the lead in the struggle to this end.

Noting that the ruling party is talking about democratization of economy, they said that deception and fraud can no longer work on the people.

They stressed the need for all the progressive forces to get united and punish the Lee Myung Bak "government", which serves only the one-percent privileged circle, in the April general elections and the "presidential" election.
