MBC Unionists Protest "Government's" Control over Media
Pyongyang, February 9 (KCNA) -- The Trade Union of MBC, a broadcasting service in south Korea, called a press conference in Seoul on Monday in protest against the "government" authorities' control over media.

At the conference speakers accused the authorities of scheming to use the broadcasting service for their aims to win in the April general elections and "presidential" election.

Since the authorities appointed Kim Jae Chol as its director-general, the MBC has been reduced into a mouthpiece for the Lee Myung Bak "government", which delete or distort any fact if it goes against the "government's" will even a bit, they deplored.

The strike by the union is for ensuring impartiality of not only MBC but also all other media, they stressed.

They held that the MBC should not act a waiting maid of the power but speak for the population.
