Kim Jong Il Sends 700,000 Books to Library
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il sent more than 700,000 books and materials in more than 595,000 kinds to the Grand People's Study House during his life.

The House is a unique Korean-style library provided by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The President made sure that the grand library which can accommodate workers, farmers, intellectuals, youth and students was built in the best place he had spared for two decades after the war.

True to his intention, Kim Jong Il saw to it that the House was built into the country's great documentary base and the world-level scientific and technological database. He sent books of national value and other books presented from foreign countries to the House for their wide use by officials, working class and youth and students.

2011 witnessed 40 deliveries which included more than 8,730 books and CDs of over 1,940 kinds covering various fields.

In December last year, he sent nearly 6,000 scientific and technological books and magazines, collections of world famous juvenile stories and CD materials of more than 300 kinds in several batches.

The books and materials cover science, technology, economy, culture, sports and all other fields.

The books and materials associated with warm benevolence of the fatherly leader will be handed down as the precious wealth of the people along with the House, a reflection of the idea of believing in the people as in Heaven.
