National Pencil Drawing Festival Opens
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The 4th National Pencil Drawing Festival was opened at the Pyongyang International Cultural Centre on Tuesday on the birth anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Presented to the festival, divided into groups of experts and amateurs, are at least 700 drawings selected from the pencil drawing shows which were held in Pyongyang and local areas.

Among them are works "Missing the Father General", "May the Holy Mountain of Revolution Shine Forever", "General, You Cannot Leave Us like This" and "Birds, Too, Miss the General", which vividly pictured the Korean people's deep yearning for Kim Jong Il and the looks of them in bitter sorrow displayed during the period of mourning over the great national loss in December last.

Such works as "Oath" and "Footsteps" show the iron faith and will of the Korean army and people to invariably continue the march started in Mt. Paektu under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

There are also works reflecting the joy and optimism of the people who lead a happy life under the socialist system and the ardent desire for national reunification in Korea.
