Sri Lanka Celebrates 64th Independence Day
Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- Sri Lanka celebrated its 64th Independence Day with a variety of events on Saturday.

The main celebrations took place in Anuradhpura, about 233 km from capital Colombo, where President Mahinda Rajapaksa led the official event.

Following the president's address to the nation, a military parade of navy, air force, police and army took place with over 4,000 personnel participating. This was followed by a colorful cultural pageant with dancers and drummers.

A massive exhibition and smaller ceremonies took place around the country that day.
