Africa Focus: Malawi President Warns External Interference
Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- Malawi President Bingu Wa Mutharika on Friday warned some western donors, the clergy and the country's civil society organizations (SCOs), not to interfere with his governing powers. He said this speaking at a parliamentary session.

There was foreign influence in the country that was working with the civil society in encouraging chaos, disobedience and lawlessness, he said. "Recently, some Western donors, some civil society and some religious leaders have acted as if they have the right to govern," he added.

He stressed that Malawi as a sovereign nation is not subservient or inferior to any systems prevailing elsewhere.
