Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary to Be Commemorated in Africa
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- Events took place in Uganda, Democratic Congo and Nigeria between Jan. 25 and Feb. 3 to commemorate the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. They included seminars, reading sessions, book and photo exhibitions and film shows.

On display in their venues were works of Kim Jong Il and photos on his feats and books and photos introducing the Korean people in the efforts to build a thriving nation.

The chairman of the Kampala City Committee of the Uganda National Resistance Movement said at a seminar that Kim Jong Il wisely led the DPRK to demonstrate its dignity as a politico-ideological and military power, holding high the banner of Songun.

He created international circumstances in favor of the DPRK and made great contribution to the cause of global independence through his energetic external activities, the speaker added.

The chairman of the Democratic Congolese preparatory committee for commemorating the 70th birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il noted that Kim Jong Il defended the socialist cause and turned the DPRK into an invincible socialist fortress by embodying the Juche idea, the Songun idea.

The manager of a Nigerian company said that the courage and pluck of the DPRK, which remain unfazed under any adversity and attack of any formidable enemy, were fostered by Kim Jong Il, the illustrious commander of Songun.
