S. Korean MBC Trade Union Launches General Strike
Pyongyang, January 31 (KCNA) -- The south Korean MBC trade union went into an indefinite general strike on Jan. 30, said the south Korean CBS.

The union started the strike for impartial broadcasting, it clarified.

The union would carry on the strike till MBC Director Kim Jae Chol who is deluged with the scandals of high-handed and arbitrary practices is unseated, it stressed.

The strike is positively supported by broad south Koreans.

The Citizens Federation for Democratic Press said the strike will hobble the present regime's four-year-long efforts to put the broadcasting under control, warning if Director Kim refuses to leave office counting on the regime on the decline, the citizens would surely unseat him.

The media trade union held a press conference to support the strike of the MBC on the same day.
