National Reunification by Efforts of Koreans Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty of south Korea made public a condolatory statement on Jan. 27, 12 years after the death of Kim Ryang Mu, permanent vice-chairman of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification.

At the last moments of his life Kim ardently cried that he wanted to devote himself readily to reunification of the country, the statement noted.

In the year when he died the historic Pyongyang summit was provided and the June 15 joint declaration adopted to usher in the new era of national reunification, it said, and continued:

But, the danger of war ran high on the Korean Peninsula and the inter-Korean relations have been brought to catastrophe since the emergence of the Lee Myung Bak "government".

It is urgent to check the Lee "government's" moves for confrontation and war with fellow countrymen and bring earlier the reunification of the country by efforts of the Korean nation.

We will launch a vigorous struggle to prevent the Lee "government" and the "Grand National Party" from staying in power in the parliamentary and "presidential" elections to be held this year and open up a new era of democracy, people's life and peaceful reunification.
