Kim Jong Un Appreciates Concert Given by Military Band of KPA
Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Workers' Party of Korea, state and army of the DPRK, appreciated a concert given by the Military Band of the KPA .

After the national anthem was played, the audience observed a moment's silence in memory of general secretary Kim Jong Il in humblest reverence.

Its repertoire included band music "The General Is Always Alive as the Sun" and "The Song of the Korean People's Army" and band music and serial songs "Song of National Defence" and "Song of Coast Artillerymen".

The band vividly represented the militant spirit and invincible might of the heroic KPA with resounding sound and cheerful and appealing melodies.

Kim Jong Un praised the players for performing a militant concert dynamically arousing the army and the people of the DPRK to a revolutionary struggle by preserving well the characteristics peculiar to the military band.

He said with appreciation that the creators and players of the military band pooled their wisdom and efforts to thoroughly implement the instructions of Kim Jong Il in their creative activities, thereby achieving success in arranging every piece of music well, enhancing the level of depiction of conductors and bringing about innovations in rendition.

He gave precious teachings which would serve as guidelines for performing activities of the KPA Military Band.

He called upon the creators and players of the Military Band to conduct more dynamic creative activities, not forgetting the true nature of the Military Band of the heroic Korean People' Army.

He expressed great expectation and belief that the creators and players of the KPA Military Band would as always perform louder and more dynamic militant songs powerfully arousing the service personnel and the people to accomplish the Songun revolutionary cause of the WPK.

Among the audience were Ri Yong Ho, Kim Yong Chun, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Kang Sok Ju, Jang Song Thaek, Pak To Chun, U Tong Chuk and other senior officials of the party, state and armed forces organs and KPA service personnel.
