Songchit Pullarp, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand, was elected chairman of the Thai preparatory committee and Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, chairman of the Swedish joint preparatory committee at the inaugural ceremonies.

The preparatory committees decided to publish Kim Jong Il's work, post on Internet commemorative articles and organize colorful events.
