New Postage Stamps Issued
Pyongyang, January 26 (KCNA) -- The DPRK State Stamp Bureau brought out two stamps portraying Mt. Paektu.

The stamps contain views of Mt. Paektu seen from Lake Samji, one of the scenic spots in the country, and Lake Chon on the top of the mountain.

Mt. Paektu in Samjiyon County, Ryanggang Province, is the highest mountain in Korea, 2 750 meters above the sea.

The mountain is associated with the revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung for the liberation of the country from the Japanese colonial rule. Leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace is also in the mountain.

The mountain is one of the famous tourist attractions in the country.

The State Stamp Bureau also issued four stamps with pictures of butterflies living in various countries.
