Present at the ceremony were the former deputy president of the Senate who is a member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria, the former speaker of the House of Representatives, the former minister of Sports and Youth Development and other personages of various circles.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of leader Kim Jong Il.

The former deputy president of the Senate was elected chairman of the national committee at the ceremony.

The national committee discussed and decided on the issues of positively holding various political and cultural events including a remembrance meeting in the future.
